I have very thin, fine hair... thinking of perming the underside?

My hair is straight and fine. I would love for it to look thicker, but I don't want to damage it (too much) with a perm, and I don't want the obvious grow-out at the roots. I was thinking of getting the underside of it permed, maybe with a body wave, to make it look fuller. Is this done? Hairdressers? Good idea?

Go with an all over texurizer. This is a new process, very similar to a perm, but really just adds body to your hair, not a strong curl. When it grows out, since it is only texturized, you won't see a major difference with the new growth.

You don't want to curl it underneath, as it won't add body where you really need it, up on the top. Plus, your isk the bottom/underside poofing out with the top flat. This will look strange.

no that would just make it look worse...best thing is to get a style that plays up thinner hair and volumize with shampoo and mousse....

i don't think a perm is the way to go it does a lot of damage to the hair maybe you could try some volume shampoo and other volume products or take advantage of you thin hair and work to the best of its abilities

I don't think you should do anything! Many people would DIE for hair like ours [I have thin straight hair too :]]. I think you should keep it.
