Hair Curling Tips. Best answer gets 10 points:)?

Hi

I have thin/silky hair and I just washed my hair. Now I need to curl it for tomorrow.

I have a medium heat curling Iron and a "got2b in control" hair spray (not very strong hold, but not that bad either).

Can anyone give me tips to make my hair have nice curly look?

Its cut in layers and shoulder length. My curling iron is 1 inch in diameter.

Thanks

Make sure that when you wrap your hair around the barrel, you hold it for long enough.

Sometimes to avoid the "crimp" that the end of the curling iron leaves, I wrap my hair around the entire barrel. I don't even bother using the lever thing.

If your hair does not hold a curl very well, then turn up the heat A LOT. It's either that, or you'll have limp curls.

If you're going to sleep with curly hair, be sure to put enough hairspray in to hold it. Maybe get some kind of shower cap/sleeping cap to hold your hair. Otherwise, your curls could get smooshed.

curl it with an expensive curling iron the best one to use is conair

Do you have naturally STRAIGHT HAIR or what? I have very straight hair that doesn't hold a curl well - I've attempted to curl it the night before to save myself the trouble in the morning and it absolutely doesn't work.

If you need to set your hair the day before, try hair rollers.

Hair Curling Tips. Best answer gets 10 points:)?

If you want spiral curls, then while your hair is wet, wrap your hair with pencils and clip them there until your hair dries and take them out. An old trick my grandmother taught me. And if you want larger curls, then use your straightener to curl your hair. My hairstylist used a small straightener to curl my hair and my hair was so beautiful and curly for the seasonal dance I went to. It stayed since 10 am to 11 pm. Which was surprising since my hair is thin and silky also.

if u want more of a modern look then bump it under. or curl your hair under. If your looking for more of a retro look then curl your hair in swirls so it can be spiral curly

Hair Curling Tips. Best answer gets 10 points:)?

Do you have foam rollers? Run to K-Mart to get some - they are pretty inexpensive. If not foam, some other type of set-when-wet rollers. We your hair, roll your hair in the rollers (if you use foam, do not wrap the hair tightly as this will give you horrible looking kinks!), then throw a sleeping cap over them (if you don't have one, use a clean pair of undies - it looks absurd, but works!)

This should give you a stonger/longer lasting curl for tomorrow! Good luck!

Hair Curling Tips. Best answer gets 10 points:)?

Rollers work better than a curling iron honestly. Right now while your hair is wet you should roll sections of hair in thick rollers and then thin rollers so you have different curls and the next morning (the day you need them) you unroll them, tousle your hair and DON'T brush since it will cause extreme fizz and use aerosol can hair sprasy to spray it down to hold it all day. Curling irons don't let your hair hold that long even with hair spray.

Hair Curling Tips. Best answer gets 10 points:)?

The best way to retain your curls is to wrap the ends of your hair starting at the tip of the iron instead of the base, so when you let it go the hair ends fall through the spiral of hair you've created.

Let the hair cool still in the spiral formation, do not brush through it while warm.

Also, when you spiral curl you should alternate directions. This will make it look more natural. So twist your iron toward your head for one curl, then away from your head for the next.

Also spray your hair with an aerosol hairspray before curling. Do not use spritz, it's too heavy. I would recommend Treseme.

Invest in a GHD straightening iron you can curl, str8n %26amp; flick with this amazing little machine. But if you cant then the best advice i can offer you is DONT WASH YOUR HAIR, the dirtyer the better for holding a smooth curl. Try and dirty it up a bit. And then just curl as usual with ya curling tong, spray a very fine mist of your h/spray on each section before you curl (becareful not to saturate it, if you can feel it you have put to much in. H/spray is not the best product for this but we are working with what you have) Curl and then twist the finished curl around your finger and so on, spray finished style with h/spray. Remember curls drop over time, if they look a bit springy at first in an hour or 2 it will look perfect

What's a good hairstyle for someone with a round full face, curly and thin hair? I don't w

short hair doesn't go well with a round face anyway, especially if your hair is thin. I would suggest a cut that's shoulder length, or a bit longer. And layer it so it doesn't have that triangular shape that a lot of curly haired people have. Also, layering can compliment your face.

What's a good hairstyle for someone with a round full face, curly and thin hair? I don't want to go too short.

cant exactly answer your question but when you get your hair cut just tell the stylist you want something that flatters your face shape and not to short they should know what to do its their job

If you have a round face, any hairstyle can work. That is the good thing about having a round face, anything goes.

Round Face

What makes a round face?

Round looking face with round cheeks and round hairline. The widest part will be at your cheeks or ears. You share your face shape with Christina Ricci, Drew Barrymore and Kate Winslet.

Tips

If you have a round face (like me) it can seem a bit tricky at times to get it right. Remember the aim is to get the face more balanced and avoid making it look rounder.

Height and weight at the crown of the face draws the eye up and creates more length. The best way to do this is by layering the top to create fullness whilst keeping the rest of the length lean. Longer lengths that sit below the chin work to elongate the face making facial features appear longer and leaner. Hair styles with a heavily styled swept back direction can work to create angles on the face. Try to avoid extreme fullness on the side of the face which will just make the widest part of your face look even wider.

Happening Hair Options

Long hair styles: Below the chin creates balance

Waves: Soft waves are romantic but not overly round.

Angle cuts: Introduce angles into the face through the use of dimensional cuts

Side parts: Draw the eye up and away and detracts from roundness.

Volume: At the crown creates elongation in the face and therefore more balance.

= = =

The best hairstyles generally include:

1. Layered bangs rather than straight or heavy bangs.

2. Short styles which give height.

3. Styles that add length.

4. Styles that keep the sides of your hair short or close to the face.

5. Curls around the crown, but never near the cheeks, to create height. Keep the sides of your hair short with a curly style.

6. Longer to very long styles with bangs and a graduated shag or layers so that the face and the neck are given a slenderizing shape.

Well placed highlighting will also slenderize the face.

Highlights that are woven around the face in an "angel halo" effect will also slenderize an overly round face.

Don't be afraid to wear your hair any length that you like. Long hair can be worn just as easily as short or medium length hair as long as you wear your hair "forward" onto your face to create a more "oval" appearance.

If you have a round face shape the goal with your hairstyle is to create an oval appearance and lift the face. To achieve this, keep the sides close to the face and promote height at the crown and hair showing below the chin.

Why does chin hair come thick after chemo, but not the rest of my body?

i had chemo and lost all body hair. i now have thin head hair, none on underarms or legs and thin private parts, but i have chin hair that any teenage boy would be proud to have. Why is that???

Why does chin hair come thick after chemo, but not the rest of my body?

Have you heard of the scalp therapy called Nioxin?? If not there is a website, what it is exactly I'm not sure, just type in Nioxin I guess. Someone told me it was developed for chemo patients. I'm not a chemo patient, but my hair grows so slowly. I've been using it twice a week for the past year. It really helps. The one thing though and I really hate to even say this because it just sounds abnormal, my eyelashes. They were long to begin with, but they have grown lately, when I wear my sunglasses they hit the lens . I recommend this stuff highly. You can buy it at any hair solon, or beauty supply outlet. Good luck!

Nioxin or Regaine? Hair growth products...?

Am only 23yo, i am facing a hair thinning problem. I'm currently using Nioxin hair cleanser, Scalp Therapy and Booster. I'm doubt this brand helps me in my not-so-obvious but happening hair thinning problem. I bought a box of Regaine 2% hair growth booster earlier but left dusted without use. Should i use both product at one time? any better suggestions or recommendations? I'm just a student. Please help me. What i should take note!

Nioxin or Regaine? Hair growth products...?

Propecia is a well-known medicine and very popular. Regular use of Propecia can stop hair loss and even re-grow hair. Not just Propecia, there are other options too that could be better for your hair. In the past people did not have many options to fight baldness. The most common way was to buy a wig and cover the head. But now with the advancement of science we have many more ways for treating hair loss.

Some of the better hair loss treatments are:

Bio matrix treatment: This is widely known as hair weaving. Hair is woven to cover the bald patch. Today hair weaving has emerged as one of the best and popular treatments for hair loss.

Nioxin or Regaine? Hair growth products...?

my mother tried nioxin and it didn't work so maybe you should try regaine

Hello Andrew K,

Before spending any more money, I advice you to do some good research on the opportunities which might help you to cope with your problem.

Maybe you can make a new start from here:

Wishing you good luck!

PS. I hope this information is not too general, because obviously your hair problem is very specific.

There are also natural hair loss ranges like Nisim's New Hair Biofactors. Minoxidil based products can have side effects as they are strong drugs.

There are also camouflage products from Nanogen.

PROM HAIR?!? i have a pic- ANY IDEAS?

hi, i have long thin blonde hair:

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/sho...

and my prom dress is aqua/light blue solid strapless dress. im also planning on wearing earrings and I have no idea what to do with my hair- its finally long enough but its thin so it makes stuff like a french twist look odd. ive looked through hundreds of ideas, so any help is greatly appreciated. i was originally thinking either an elegant french twist or just down curly, but down may be hot once i start dancing. maybe half up half down? idk, please give me any and all of your suggestions! hope the picture helps. thanks :)

PROM HAIR?!? i have a pic- ANY IDEAS?

yeah I think an updo would look very nice. french twist with babysbreath in it and chandilier earrings too .... have fun at prom and dont do anything I wouldn't... I take that back do all the things I wouldnt do, like BEHAVE, lol

PROM HAIR?!? i have a pic- ANY IDEAS?

Because you are wearing a strapless an updo is a must. I like the idea of a french twist, and I would top that off with curls at the top.

PROM HAIR?!? i have a pic- ANY IDEAS?

Hilary Duff's hair in Cinderella Story is beautiful when shes at her prom. I did it for my semi- formal and i got SO many compliments.

PROM HAIR?!? i have a pic- ANY IDEAS?

if i were you, i would try this, get a pack of sponge rollers, wash your hair and take strands of hair and wrap it from the ends of your hair up into the roller to make a spiral curl, then i would sleep on it, the next day, take out the rollers, and if you don't like it long and springy, just take bobby pins and pin it up on the top of your head. it is a really nice style for prom. best of luck and have a good time!

PROM HAIR?!? i have a pic- ANY IDEAS?

An up do would look great! or you could wear it down curly, it would also make your hair look thicker!

PROM HAIR?!? i have a pic- ANY IDEAS?

Hi Caroline!

Well. . . since your dress is a strapless you could wear your hair half-way up with curls and do some lose curls for the other half of your hair, or you could even put it all up and accent it with a cute butterfly or flower. A blue or white flower would be divine with the color of your dress.

If you would like some step-by-step instructions on what kind of up-do to have for your prom, I would suggest going to: www.promadvice.com!

They have great instructions and you can match up your hair type to theirs and they look fab!

Hope this helps :)

Hair falling out?

ok i have thin blonde hair. i am only 21 so it is not cause of old age. but anything i do it falls out. and feels weakened. i have tried a hair treatment but i don't think it is working. something as simply as running my hand through my hair i would have like a handful of hair that came out. i am wanting to get my hair thicker. healthier. and longer. what is the best way.

Hair falling out?

If this is a new situation, talk to your doctor. I have had this happen 3 times in my life and I have thick hair. Twice it was medication I was on and once it was thyroid troubles. I took Seldane while in college and it made my hair fall out as you describe. It was later pulled off the market for causing health problems. More recently, I took Zocor for cholesterol and the same thing happened. Both times as soon as I stopped the medication, my problems with hairloss stopped.

Hair falling out?

I'm only 16 and it seems like my hair is falling out more than usual as well %26gt;_%26lt; woe is me it's a real nusance! I read the 1st answer and I am also on a new medicine. Perhaps it's a medical problem, I would also recomend talking to your doctor. People on here don't know you and won't know the condition unless they examine you in person (and are doctors who know the probable cause) so please ask your doctor!

Hair falling out?

It could be a vitamin imbalance or hormonal imbalance (thyroid).

Stess could also be a factor.

The best thing I could suggest to you is go to your doctor and have some test run to find out whats going on.

I been doing hair for over 30 years.

Hair falling out?

Seriously make an appointment to see a doctor. If it is stress he or she will let you know and if it is something more serious he or she will let you know. Either way going to see a doctor will say you money, headace, hair, and time.

What products are good for dry, thin and curly hair?

My hair has lots of body, but is thin and dry. Tips for curly hair that I came across were for thick curly hair, but my hair is thin, curly and puffy.

What products are good for dry, thin and curly hair?

My hair is naturally curly too, but it doesn't curl nice if I let it dry naturally so I either tie it in a pony tail to keep it from frizzing to oblivion or put it in a bun.

At any rate... I put VO5 Frizz control in my hair after taking a shower or bath (on wet hair anyways) and after the VO5 I also put a coat of petroleum jelly, or basically Vasoline. I know vasoline probably doesn't sound like the yummiest thing to put in your hair but trust me, it's much, much cheapter than those stupid expensive brands of hair gel on the market and works waaaaayyyy better anyways and leaves your hair looking a lot softer and smooth.

So just put the VO5 in your hair after a shower, comb it through to distribute evenly through your hair and especially make sure it gets the ends of your hair. Then put the vasoline in your hair and comb it through evenly and your hair will look much silkier, don't put a whole lot of vasoline, just about a dime to a quarter-sized drop and spread through your hands and then throughout your hair. It worked for me and my hair is the queen of frizz, but now it "looks" healthy even though it might not be the healthiest.
