You can't thin it too much without a haircut, but you can use some products that shrink the diameter of the strands. I think Paul Mitchell has one, called super skinny. I haven't used it, so I don;t know if it really works. You can always go to a hair stylist and ask to thin out your hair a little, which basically just places some thin layers in the hair. You will definitely be able to feel the difference if you do this! You can also do it without really losing any length~

If you want to thin it out but don't want the layered look, see if your stylist will layer it from the underside to the outside. (Ex: Shorter hair underneath, long hair covering it.) That way, your hair would still LOOK just as nice and long, and still look as thick and full, but it would be easier for you to deal with. I had my hair cut much shorter in the back and longer in the front, also, and I find that it keeps you feeling a good bit cooler (temp-wise), too.

BTW, if your hair is wavy or curly AT ALL, do NOT let a razor touch it or it will turn in a massive ball of frizz, trust me. Have them make choppy layers with scissors if that's the route you decide to go.
