Is their anyway I can make my very thin, weak, baby fine, stringy hair thicker?

I want to have my hair thicker so I can get a punk hair cut (short sorta spikey in the back) but my hair is very thin, weak, baby fine, stringy, etc and somewhat short due 2 genetic bone diseases. Does any store out there sell really cheap , short, clip on extensions I can put in to make my hair look thicker? I did buy some 220$ hair extensions but since I spent so much I don't want to go and cut the hair up... P.s. I had short bangs (they were slanted) and they grew back super fast (about 2 inches) in the past 2 months which is abnormal for me considering my hair doesn't grow AT ALL... I'm thinking maybe if I cut my hair very short it will come back thicker but I don't want to take any chances...

I would advise you to go and consult a professional hair dresser especially as you have a medical condition that effect the strength of your hair.

The cut and style can make your hair appear thicker and give it the appearance of having more body. But there is no product that can do this even though many claim to. Remember your hair is dead. It is only what is in the hair follicle that is growing and alive, so heath and diet can really effect your hair growth and its density.

Extensions could help, but I really would advise you to go and talk to a professional about what you want to achieve..

Damaging it (hair dye, etc.) might make it more style-able, but from one fine haired girl to another, that's a hard thing to do, the spiky thing.

try using a bodily shampoo if you go to your local drugstore they have many different shampoos for different types of hair if you look you'll probably find one for thin hair or dry hair i use Panteine Pro-V for brittle and thin hair and it works great try it

oh and dont cut your hair short it will not come back thicker think about when you were younger was your hair always thin and stringy cause if it was it'll grow back the same way it came :S

hope this helps

Good Luck: )

Well my friend had just about the same problem. What she did was she bought this product by Bed Head I don't remember what it was called but it worked on her hair like magic. You can go to your local hair salons and get for about 10 bucks for a good size bottle.
