My hair became alot thinner suddenly. Please help!?

Hi. I used to have really thick hair and lots of volume. Right know i still have the same AMOUNT of hair but each strand of hair is ALOT thinner! Ive been using Pantene Pro-V shampoo twice a day for about a month now. I think this is the cause.

Is there any way to fix it? Will it get better if i stop using Pantene?

Please help me, I have no idea what to do right now.

P.S: Im a 16 year old male. Thanks alot in advance.

Victor

hiya, i;m a hairdresser

everyday we lose average 100-200 hairs per day.

however, sudden thinning of hair cud be hormone related, medication, stress/worry/depression.

also cud alopecia, where u start to develop balding spots about the size of a 50p coin - but 99% of the time this is just temp and again related to stress/worry/depression.

i dont think it wud be the patene shampoo, altho I am not the biggest fan of it purely because it coats ur hair in plastic. but if u try using a thickening/volumising shampoo and conditioner this will help.

if ur still worried, go to a hair stylist or your doctor to get a 2nd opinion.

hope this helps :o)

Have you got a lot of baldness in your family????

If not get crew-cuts for a few months as that sure thicken hair doubt if it was the pantene

Use mane n' tail, it makes your hair thicker and shiny.

It's not your shampoo, I've been using it for years and I've never had any problems. It's most likely diet related, talk to your doctor.

It may not be just the shampoo that is thinning your hair. Does baldness run in your family? If so it may be hereditary. Maybe you just need to find a really good conditioner. But if it is that much of a concern I would speak to a dermatologist about it. There are a number of things that can be prescribed to encourage hair growth. I would however, just to be on the safe side, switch shampoos.

Good luck.
